Summary: 

The Technology and Innovation Specialist-Instructional Designer (TIS-ID) is a professional position in the Office of Teaching and Learning at Fuller Theological Seminary. The TIS-ID is responsible for supporting the vision of the seminary via the strategic technical configuration, maintenance and advancement of the Learning Management System (LMS) and research and development of innovative academic technology implementations. The TIS-ID will support seminary faculty and colleagues using best practices of teaching and learning. The TIS-ID will help guide the learning development process from analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The TIS-ID is responsible for working with faculty to successfully implement academic pedagogical principles and technology-enhanced learning into courses. The TIS-ID will have a strong background in education, technology, and pedagogy; as well as excellent interpersonal skills. This person needs to be organized, flexible, self-motivated, and able to maintain the integrity and a good work ethic. The TIS-ID reports to the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.


Accomplishments: ​​

  • Directed a data analysis project for the quality assurance of faculty, student retention, and accreditation standards

  • Directed the creation of Faculty Commons (UI/UX, aesthetics, and features), an intranet space for faculty communication and collaboration


Skills: 

  • Front-end web development and implementation using HTML5, CSS3 (CSS preprocessors), JavaScript (jQuery and React)

  • Essential understanding of SEO

  • Data Management in a cloud-based data warehouse (Redshift and mySQL)

  • Essential knowledge of data analysis using SQL, Python, and PHP

  • Proficient in Google analytics and Tableau-SalesForce

  • Working knowledge of application development: JavaScript (React.js), Swift, and other OOPs

  • Thorough administrative knowledge of Canvas LMS and external integrations, such as tool integrations (LTI) and communication integrations (xAPI, SCORM, and others protocols)
